Beloved Holy Spirit, You want us to live in faithfulness – and this in a time when infidelity is almost becoming a way of life. You will have a lot of work to do, because many people no longer understand the meaning of fidelity, whether it is in the marital relationship or in promises made or even in religious vows. We often need to learn anew what faithfulness, responsibility, constancy and stability mean. Read More

THE WORK OF THE SPIRIT
344th Meditation
Our loving Father wants to dwell in our souls and build his temple in them. As St. Paul tells us, we are called to be the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:9). So it is not only the majestic and beautiful cathedrals where the Lord dwells in the tabernacle; but at all times and in all places we can find Him in our own heart, which becomes the tabernacle of His grace. Thus speaks the Father in the Message concerning the action of the Holy Spirit: Read More
Meditations on the Holy Spirit (12/14): MODESTY
What ornament, O Holy Spirit, is a modest soul; a soul in which Your fruit, dwells! In her, the disorderly desire is restrained and has come to rest. She does not think for herself constantly and is easily satisfied with everything. She does not want to be the centre of attention, but wants to take the place that You have intended for her. Therefore the precious gift of gratitude and also the fruit of humility is effective in her. Read More
A NEW HEART
343rd Meditation
“I shall give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you; I shall remove the heart of stone from your bodies and give you a heart of flesh instead” (Ezek 36:26).
What is at stake is the heart of man! To whom does it belong?
Our Heavenly Father wants to dwell in our heart and make it receptive to His love, which He unceasingly offers us. The new heart that He gives us is one that is no longer hardened, that no longer closes itself off to love, that opens itself to the needs of all, that no longer tolerates the coldness that it still discovers in itself and allows the love of God to melt the layer of ice that often surrounds it. Meditations on the Holy Spirit (11/14): THE GOODNESS
Holy Spirit, with Your gifts that You sink into our souls, You want to bring forth all the fruits that we contemplate in these days before we celebrate the feast of Your coming in the Church. They are true fruits that make our lives bright, they are expressions of Your love and help us to relate to each other as human beings in the incomparable way that Jesus said to His disciples:
“May they all be one, just as, Father, you are in me and I am in you, so that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me. Read More
THE HEART OF GOD IS OUR REFUGE
342nd Meditation
“As long as you remain in my heart, you will be under my divine protection. Even if the powers of darkness rise up, they will achieve nothing” (Inner Word).
Our Father offers us His Heart as a refuge, for against Him the powers of darkness can achieve nothing. They attack man in order to confuse him and, if possible, to seize his grace. But if we remain in the Heart of God, their efforts will be in vain. Read More
Meditations on the Holy Spirit (10/14): CHASTITY
Holy Spirit, today I come to you with a special request which darkens the lives of many people.
The sense of chastity has been lost and for too many people it seems to be a relic of times gone by. If one speaks of it, one is often met with complete incomprehension, and even in ecclesiastical circles it not infrequently evokes a pitiful smile. Yet chastity is a fruit of life with You and a glorious gift that strengthens the dignity of the person immensely! Read More
“SHEATHE YOUR SWORD”
341st Meditation
“Jesus said to Peter, ‘Put away your sword; shall I not drink the cup which the Father has given me?'” (Jn 18:11).
Can we not understand Peter’s reaction? In the garden of Gethsemane, he had to see with his own eyes how his beloved Master was taken prisoner. Should he not defend Him? Would he not thus be demonstrating to Jesus his love, his fidelity and also his courage? Read More
LISTEN TO HIM
340th Meditation
“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to Him” (Mt 17:5).
Our Father gives us this instruction on Mount Tabor, during the Transfiguration of Jesus, addressing in the first instance the 3 disciples who accompanied Jesus at that moment. They were able to experience the glorious Transfiguration of the Lord, and we know how awed Peter was when he saw that Moses and Elijah, the representatives of the Law and the Prophets, also appeared. What a fullness! Certainly the disciples could hardly believe their eyes. Read More
Meditations on the Holy Spirit (9/14): LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
Come, Holy Spirit, enlighten us, for You are the light that makes our darkness bright. Take away from us all our spiritual blindness, so that we may better recognise You and perceive reality in Your light. There is a big difference between recognising You in the work and only seeing the natural reality.
You know, Holy Spirit, we actually understand very little! Read More
