THE GIFT OF THE FEAR OF GOD

“I want to show you that I come among you through My Holy Spirit” (Father’s Message to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio).

In the Message to Mother Eugenia, our Father speaks of how, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in souls who are in a state of grace, He establishes His throne in them to dwell there always as a Father full of love.

Let us see, then, how the Holy Spirit works in us, how He glorifies the Father and awakens our love for Him.

Let us begin with the gift of the fear of God. Very gently, but very clearly, the Holy Spirit admonishes us never to offend or disrespect our Heavenly Father, not even in the slightest. If we happen to offend Him again through carelessness or through the evil that has not yet been overcome in our heart, the Holy Spirit awakens in us a deep contrition that calls us to be reconciled with our Heavenly Father immediately. It is also the Holy Spirit who reminds us that the doors of our Father’s Heart are always open to us, for He shows us the right image of God so that we can approach Him with confidence.

The Holy Spirit – the love between the Father and the Son – wants to transform us through His gifts and to awaken in us an ever greater love to unite us completely with our Father. Under His influence, we learn to approach the throne of our Heavenly Father in our souls with the right attitude, which implies reverence and trust at the same time. In this way, the Father Himself, through His Holy Spirit, teaches us how to relate to Him in such a way that we can fully welcome His loving presence in us.
