I ENFOLD IN MY LOVE ALL HUMAN BEINGS

298th Meditation

“I enfold in my love all the rational creatures who make up humanity” (Message of the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

Our Father’s love is for all people. From our faith we receive this certainty and we strive to accept this love, filling ourselves with it and allowing ourselves to be formed by it.

It is not difficult to love those who also love us. But the Father’s love does not stop there; it wants to conquer all people. He loved us while we were still sinners and at enmity with God (Rom 5:8). This love, which set no limits for itself, wants to reach all people, for it is for this love that we were created and “our heart is restless until it rests in you”, as St. Augustine tells us.

A life that is closed to this love is a contradiction in itself. But it is precisely here that the incomparable love of our Father manifests itself. He, the Infinite One, from whom all being proceeds, comes in the Person of His Son to this world, often so far from Him, with all its contradictions and evil.

God does not come to judge people and make them pay for all their transgressions, but to save them (Jn 12:47). He allows human beings to put to death the One who created them; to mock the One who loved them; to crown with thorns the One who is their true King.

In His Son, the Father nails this contradiction to the Cross, to resolve what has no solution; to overcome evil through divine love; to transform the hopelessness of a failed life into hope; to grant humans, enslaved by sin, the freedom of the children of God.

It is addressed to all without exception! All are called to recognise the love of the Heavenly Father, to awaken from the inconsistencies of their lives and to begin to live in truth, in conformity with the Will of our Father. Then true peace and pure joy will reign in their lives.
