Through the meditations of the last days, we have been able to encounter God the Father more closely. Sometimes the negative experiences we have had in our lives prevent us from recognising the true image of God, for example, if the relationship with our biological father has been rather problematic. However, we should not let these experiences bring us down, but then it is all the more necessary for us to discover God as our loving Father, who can heal our wounds and fill any inner emptiness with Himself.

The dignity of chastity
Ex 20:1-17
And the Lord spoke all these words: I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth.
Fear them not
Mt 10: 26-32
Gospel for the memorial of Saint Pantaleon, Martyr
At that time, Jesus said to his apostles: Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known. That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops.
Eyes to see and ears to hear
Mt 13:16-17
(Gospel for the Memorial of Sts. Joachim and Anne)
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “Blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them.”
Service is the true greatness
Mt 20:20-28
Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and asking something of him. Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom. And Jesus answering, said: You know not what you ask. Can you drink the chalice that I shall drink? They say to him: We can.
The Lord fights for you
Ex 14:5-18

The Lord made Pharaoh King of Egypt stubborn, and he gave chase to the Israelites. Read More
God’s strength
Wis 12:13.16-19
For there is no other God but thou, who hast care of all, that thou shouldst shew that thou dost not give judgment unjustly. For thy power is the beginning of justice: and because thou art Lord of all, thou makest thyself gracious to all. For thou shewest thy power, when men will not believe thee to be absolute in power, and thou convincest the boldness of them that know thee not. Read More
The Way of Love
Song 3:1-4a
In my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, and found him not. I will rise, and will go about the city: in the streets and the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, and I found him not. The watchmen who keep the city, found me: Have you seen him, whom my soul loveth? When I had a little passed by them, I found him whom my soul loveth.
On Sabbath observance and Sunday sacredness
Mt 12:1-8
At that time Jesus went through the corn on the sabbath: and his disciples being hungry, began to pluck the ears, and to eat. And the Pharisees seeing them, said to him: Behold thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days. Read More
St. Margaret and the Prophet Elijah
Sir 51:1-8
Reading corresponding to the memorial of St. Margaret of Antioch
A prayer of Jesus the son of Sirach. I will give glory to thee, O Lord, O King, and I will praise thee, O God my Saviour. I will give glory to thy name: for thou hast been a helper and protector to me. And hast preserved my body from destruction, from the snare of an unjust tongue, and from the lips of them that forge lies, and in the sight of them that stood by, thou hast been my helper.
