THE FATHER CALLS US TO CONVERSION

251st Meditation

Our Father calls us to return home….

Conversion means to open ourselves to God’s love and goodness, to turn away from wrong or useless ways, to turn our hearts to the Lord.

God’s heart is open to us! He never closes it and is always ready to welcome us when we seek Him. A single word from a sincere heart, a single “You are my Father”, has the power to deliver us from eternal damnation.

Throughout our lives, the Father constantly calls us to conversion, because we can always grow in love. And this is what it is all about: growing in love, letting ourselves be loved by the Father and responding to His love, day by day and hour by hour….

From today, we are given forty days to understand more deeply God’s saving work; forty days in which the Father invites us to respond even more to His call, doing “the good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph 2:10). We are to understand what it means that His Son took upon Himself suffering and death to redeem us. We must understand how great is His love for us.

This is what the Father tells us in the Message to Mother Eugenia:

“In My Son they will treat Me cruelly, notwithstanding all the good He will do for them. In My Son they will speak ill of Me, they will crucify Me to bring about My death.” Shall I stop because of this? No, My love for My children, men, is too great.”

Conversion means recognising this love and living in it.
