THE VICTOR IS THE ONE WHO WANTS TO FIGHT ON

204th Meditation

“Only those who lose their courage are defeated. The victor is the one who wants to fight on” (St. Francis de Sales).

A maxim for this year and for all times… Whoever trusts in our Father will not lose courage and therefore not lose his fundamental course. The powers of evil try to fight against the Lord and His Anointed (Ps 2:2), but their efforts are in vain. In the end, the devil is only the “decived deceiver”. This is the reality and we must internalise this certainty! Read More

“A GUARD AT THE DOOR OF MY LIPS” (PS 141:3)

203rd Meditation

“Lord, mount a guard over my mouth, a guard at the door of my lips” (Ps 141:3).

How different everything would be if every person would say this wise prayer and act according to it! How much suffering would be avoided and how much progress would be made in the spiritual life!

“Thoughtless words can wound like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Prov 12:18). Read More

OPENNESS TO CHRIST

201st Meditation

“Today I wish to say that openness to Christ, who as the Redeemer of the world fully reveals man himself, can only be achieved through an ever more mature reference to the Father and His love” (John Paul II, Encyclical “Dives in Misericordia”).

Thus, from the perspective of the love of His Heavenly Father, we discover our Savior. There can be no deeper encounter with Him! Read More

1 Jn 2:22-28

Who is the liar, if not one who claims that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the Antichrist, who denies both the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son cannot have the Father either; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father too. Let what you heard in the beginning remain in you; as long as what you heard in the beginning remains in you, you will remain in the Son and in the Father. Read More

JESUS, I LOVE YOU

200th Meditation

These would have been the last words of Pope Benedict XVI before he died; three simple words that allow us to take a deep look into the heart of this Pontiff, who will now meet God in all His glory.

Only the Holy Spirit can awaken in the hearts of men this love for Jesus and make them find their home in the love of the Holy Trinity. With these last words, Pope Benedict shows himself to be a child of this love.

“Jesus, I love you.” Read More
