“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.” (Mt 6:33)
How much more orderly everything in our lives would be if we would only follow this counsel of the Lord! That spiritual order—which governs all things but has, unfortunately, become so thoroughly disrupted—would be restored. Our Heavenly Father could then very easily provide us with everything, because we would be receptive to it. In a certain sense, we would already be entering into a “life beyond,” for without question, the holy will of God is the most radiant glory of all angels and saints.
A “life beyond” does not make us unworldly, but opens our eyes to view the world in God’s way. We gain an eye for the true hierarchy. Consequently, we attend to what is most important to the Lord. Thus we become a melodious instrument of His holy purposes.
More and more we will perceive what is most important to our Father, and we will—strengthened by the Holy Spirit—strive to bring it to fruition. On this path, it will become second nature to us that things which might otherwise demand too much of our attention will recede and be lovingly ordered by our Father.
But this truly requires, first of all, the realization of the order we have been urged to establish and the trust to take such a step. The Holy Spirit will encourage us to do so, and we will discover a wonderful spiritual order, established by God with the utmost love, in which His will is revealed more and more.
